WATER DAMAGE

A: In cases of very limited water damage, it may be all right to clean it on your own as long as you wear appropriate safety gear. However, you will want to consult with one of our Cleanrite-Buildrite team members before beginning the restoration process. The water may be contaminated and there may also be hidden reservoirs of floodwater that can only be cleaned with professional equipment. Often times if water is contaminated or there is a possibility of mold or asbestos it’s imperative to have areas tested to prevent health issues. We always recommend a professional coming out to take a look. Always remember to contact your insurance agent to make sure you are covered, they should take care of the costs of having us come out.

A: Drying times vary significantly depending on the size of the home, the materials damaged and the severity of the flooding. In a majority of cases we will be able to completely dry and dehumidify the entire flooded area in less than a week. Our drying services are thorough and complete, so even areas behind walls and beneath floorboards will be completely dried. Our state-of-the-art technology will help make the process as easy as possible.

A: If the area is vulnerable but hasn’t yet been flooded, you should move your valuables to higher ground. On the other hand, if the area is even partially flooded, you should stay out of it. The water may be carrying an electrical current, and it may also contain dangerous contaminants that can make you sick. Give us a call, and our team will work quickly to prevent the damage from spreading any further.

Every insurance company and claim is different, it’s best to consult with your adjuster immediately to get an idea about what’s covered under your policy. No one likes a surprise, your insurance agent should be one of the first calls you make after water damage occurs.

If your equipment bothers you for any reason, you should talk to the project manager or technician working with you on your home. Turning off equipment early could potentially result in further damage or a longer dry out purpose – if you have equipment running and it’s bothering you for any reason, please just give us a call at 800-870-0030.

We understand the slight inconvenience it can cause you having a team of people regularly monitoring your home, but it’s an absolute necessity to allow us to monitor it. For us to achieve the best results, we need to closely monitor the dry out process. This may include moving, adding, or removing equipment and checking humidity and temperature readings. Do you have any other questions? Please feel free to give us a call at your convenience, we’d be happy to answer.

FIRE DAMAGE

A: Depending on the soot and smoke, you might be able to. In most cases we wouldn’t recommend it because it might lead to further damage if done incorrectly. It’s always a good idea to call out the professionals at CRBR if you’ve just had a fire, we’ll assess the damage, and let you know the scope of damage. Different kinds of smoke and soot residues require different kinds of cleaning solutions, and improper treatment can cause the damage to get worse and harder to repair. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to give us a call, any time

A: Though insurance policies vary, most providers will pay for storm damage recovery services. From roof repairs to major reconstruction, your provider should pay for cleanup regardless of whether the damage was caused by hail, wind, rain, snow, or ice. The main exception is damage caused by overflowing rivers and lakes—in those cases, recovery will only be covered if you have a flood insurance policy. Every situation is different and only your insurance provider can confirm what is covered. If you have any questions or concerns about your policy – call your insurance provider today!

A: Some insurance providers require you to have a specific mold growth policy. However, in many other cases remediation will be covered, as long as the cause of the growth is covered. For example, mold growth caused by a burst pipe will likely be covered by your policy. On the other hand, growth caused by an overflowing river entering your home will likely be excluded and you’ll have to pay for remediation yourself. Every situation is different and only your insurance provider can confirm what is covered with mold damage, but in our experience, most fire damage is covered. If you have any questions or concerns about your policy – call your insurance provider today!

INSURANCE CLAIMS PROCESS

A: Each provider has its own specific policies, but whether or not the water damage will be covered depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies exclude flood damage unless you have specialized flood insurance. On the other hand, if the flooding was caused by a plumbing problem or roof damage after a storm, then your provider will probably cover the costs of recovery. Every situation is different and you won’t know until you contact you insurance company and adjuster.

A: Most providers will pay for almost every aspect of recovery after a property fire, unless the fire was intentionally set by someone in your household. Acts of arson, grease fires, electrical fires, and almost every other kind of fire should be covered by your provider. That means that they will pay for reconstruction, contents restoration, deodorization, cleaning, etc. Every situation is different and only your insurance provider can confirm what is covered, but in our experience, most fire damage is covered. If you have any questions or concerns about your policy – call your insurance provider today!

MOLD

A: An excess of water. Mold usually begins growing when there’s too much moisture somewhere in your home. The moisture can be caused by a leaky pipe, improper insulation, or some other form of untreated water damage. Once it starts growing, it can spread like wildfire and cause damage to the structure of your home. It’s always a good idea to have to have a professional check your home for mold as there might also be asbestos, both of which can cause health issues. If you even think there might be mold in your home please give us a call immediately.

A: Absolutely not. We don’t recommend attempting to remove the mold yourself. Our professional and highly experienced team of mold remediation experts will assess the mold growth situation and give you advice for how to proceed. Mold often requires proper containment as well as equipment, attempting to remove mold without this could be harmful not only to your home but to your health. In some cases of mold i.e. depending on year of home, if there is lead etc. we might also need to test for asbestos as well.

A: Mold growth presents unique hazards to those attempting to clean it up, because incorrect removal techniques can cause the mold spores to spread and begin to grow in other areas of your home. That’s why we take careful steps to make sure the growth area is carefully contained and that all our remediation crew members exactly follow all appropriate protocol. Containment of mold is extensive and strenuous, please don’t attempt this alone.
